This library covers a large area. A brick road extends from the gate to the building. There are pools, fountains and strangely shaped monuments in the yard. This library is an old villa with three floors, which is reconstructed from buildings left over from Meiji era, much like Chilianwa Hall in Sapporo (Chilianwa Hall is the old hall of Hokkaido Hall and the office of the old government). This is a baroque European building built with red bricks in the center of Sapporo. It is beautifully designed and brightly colored. It is like an enlarged fairy tale hut of Andersen, which is affectionately called "red brick building" by local people. However, its outer wall is covered with thorny trees, so the local residents affectionately call it Thorn Hall (from the official novel Book).

There is a wonderful book (no lending) in the library, which was donated by Oriental Zhang Zhu. You can hear the sound when reading.
