Xinyang Teachers College (hereinafter referred to as Xinyang Teachers College) is the first undergraduate college founded in Henan Province after China's reform and opening up, and one of the two key normal universities in Henan Province. It is a shining business card of higher education in Dabie Mountain area, and is known as "the cradle of teachers", "the most beautiful university in Henan Province", "the university in the garden" and "a good university for free study in the green mountains".
The school was founded in 1975, when it was named Xinyang Branch of Kaifeng Normal University (now Henan University). 1978 was approved by the State Council and changed to its current name. 1979 became the first batch of authorized units for bachelor's degrees. 1998 was approved by the State Council Academic Degrees Committee as an authorized unit for master's degree.
The school has an existing campus of more than 2,300 mu, with a total construction area of more than 800,000 square meters. The library has 2.72 million paper books, 2.27 million electronic books and 58 digital resource libraries. The number of accessible resource libraries is 152, and there are 4652 Chinese and foreign periodicals. Various laboratories, multimedia classrooms and microteaching fully meet the needs of education, teaching and students' growth. Students come from 27 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions in China.
