Liaoning University of Engineering Science was founded in 1949, formerly known as Fuxin Mining Institute. In the early 1960s, it became the only coal university in Northeast China and one of the two national key universities directly under the former Ministry of Coal Industry. Many general managers or chairmen of seven major coal enterprises in China graduated from this school, which is known as the "Whampoa Military Academy" in the coal industry. The school is a national enrollment university specializing in engineering technology and geology and mineral resources, a pilot university of the "Excellent Engineer Education and Training Program" of the Ministry of Education and the Liaoning Excellent Engineer Education Program, a national graduate employment typical experience university of the Ministry of Education, a China Government Scholarship University of the Ministry of Education to receive overseas students, and a university implementing the National Innovation Experiment Program of the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Finance. The People's Government of Liaoning Province and the * * * Department of the Provincial Administration of Work Safety jointly build colleges and universities, and the "Basic Capacity Building Project for Colleges and Universities in Central and Western China (Small 2 1 1 Project)" focuses on the construction of colleges and universities.
