This is a military monograph of the Qing Dynasty that reflects the collection of the National Library. It involves the military system, military law, engineering, education, army, navy, cavalry, defense, supply, resumes of Manchu, Mongolian and Han ethnic military personnel, etc.
The collection of military classics and archives in the Qing Dynasty pays more attention to the military archives in the middle and late Qing Dynasty and takes into account the military documents in the early Qing Dynasty. It not only has research value, but also has the function of military textbooks. By studying them, we can get more systematic and specialized information from them. For example, in the late Qing Dynasty, the information on receiving eastern military education and using modern military equipment was relatively concentrated and comprehensive. Another example is the naval planning and equipment in the late Qing dynasty, as well as the information related to the naval strength of the Qing dynasty at that time. For another example, the Qing court has other information on the history of wars at home and abroad. There are also materials for scholars to study the military history of the Qing Dynasty or more specifically to a specific subject, so this book only shows the huge volume after its compilation (100 volume).
Another feature of this series is "practicality". Only historical materials are collected, and scholars' works on military discussion, military occupation, strategy and military law are not collected. There are probably the following contents: First, the military system of the Qing Dynasty. Second, the military defense of the Qing Dynasty. Third, the history of the Qing Dynasty. Fourth, the military logistics support of the Qing Dynasty. Fifth, military education in Qing Dynasty. Six, the Qing dynasty military manuscripts, etc.
From the perspective of modern research, there are not only Zhao Fu's files with high edition value, such as Bao Ping Uprising, Yong Zheng Zuo Ying List, Several Military Books of Various Provinces in the Ten Years of Guangxu, Sun Tzu's Art of War Heritage, and Qing Xian's Military Historical Materials, but also Picture Album and Illustrated Costume Making in the Army and Beijing. All kinds of historical documents collected in this book include a large number of manuscripts, supplements and stickers, as well as manuscripts, pictures and original manuscripts. It is exquisitely copied and well preserved, and it is unique in the domestic library circle. The former sages once said: "Military is the essence of Confucianism", and the heroes of ancient and modern sages did not ignore military affairs. The "Art of War" and "Military Cases" in "An Introduction to Military Archives in Qing Dynasty" still have positive practical significance today, which can provide a mirror for researchers engaged in Qing history and military affairs at home and abroad.
