Chen Wenyuan teaches at Lanzhou University.
1954 After graduating from college in July, Chen Wenyuan was assigned to teach in the Mathematics Department of Lanzhou University. At that time, the conditions of the mathematics department of Lanzhou University were very simple, with no teachers 10, no mathematical research foundation, no reference room, and many mathematics courses were not taught. In the face of difficult circumstances, Chen Wenyuan did not waver at all. He devoted himself to the intense teaching work with great enthusiasm. In the following years, he taught mathematical analysis, advanced algebra, real variable function, complex variable function, functional analysis, differential equation, differential geometry, numerical analysis, numerical algebra, numerical method, probability theory and cybernetics. Some courses, such as cybernetics, he didn't study, and there were no ready-made textbooks at that time. Therefore, he had to study, lecture and collect information. In the teaching process, Chen Wenyuan attaches great importance to cultivating students' intuitive imagination, abstract generalization and logical thinking ability, and attaches great importance to cultivating students' ability to analyze and solve problems, and encourages students to be brave in pioneering, thinking and making continuous progress. He soon became the backbone of the mathematics department. Chen Wenyuan not only teaches at least two extracurricular courses each semester, but also undertakes a lot of work in the reference room, ordering a large number of mathematical periodicals and teaching reference materials.
