My eldest son will go to primary school next year. I began to feel inexplicable anxiety at the thought that he would soon start to do homework with the baby. I'm afraid I can't control my temper and the relationship between mother and child will break down. What should I do?

Especially in my son's math study, it's really hard for me to calm down from the kindergarten teacher's complaint that he wrote the number "8" and drew two "0s"!

Last weekend, I had dinner with my best friend. She specially brought a friend, Miss Chen, a primary school math teacher, who said that she would help me feel my pulse and tell me the most important way to learn primary school math well.

So, my best friend and I listened carefully to a meal of teacher Chen's analysis and made notes specially, just to lay a good foundation for my son's future elementary school mathematics study.

The following contents are all from teacher Chen's words. For narrative convenience, the following contents are written in the first person:

Hello, everyone. I'm Mr. Chen, a primary school math teacher. I have been engaged in front-line mathematics teaching for more than ten years. From a lot of work practice, I found that children with good math scores have some similarities.

For example, I am very interested in learning mathematics and I am very careful in doing problems, so to sum up, I must have the following three points if I want to learn primary school mathematics well.

2

Strict learning attitude.

Do you know what kind of students you dislike the most as a math teacher? Not students with poor math scores, but students who think they are smart but don't study hard!

When I first started working, I taught the third grade. There is a boy named Wang Wei in our class. He is lively and active, and answers questions very actively. He often holds his hand high for fear that I can't see him.

But what puzzles me is that there are always mistakes in every class assignment. What's even more outrageous is that the unit test score is about 85 at most, and as for the mid-term and final exams, it never exceeds 90.

I talked to Wang Wei's mother. Wang Wei's mother said, "My son is very clever. He can do addition and subtraction within 20 when he is less than three years old, but he is usually a bit sloppy and his grades are always not top-notch. "

This is the crux of the problem. Wang Wei's brain is really smart, and he learns everything faster than others, but his learning attitude is not rigorous and serious, which leads to his grades never going up.

Many parents are confused by their children's clever appearance, thinking that as long as their children are smart enough, it doesn't matter if they don't get good grades temporarily, but they don't know how important it is to cultivate their children's rigorous learning attitude!

What does rigidity mean? Is to be careful. When it comes to mathematics learning, we must take every formula and law seriously and write every calculation problem and application problem carefully.

First of all, firmly grasp the basic knowledge of mathematics.

The reason why Wang Wei looks smart, but his score has been very low is because he doesn't pay attention to the basic knowledge of mathematics, and many formulas and rules are swallowed and not firmly grasped.

For example, the learning content of unit conversion, the conversion formula of length unit is:

1km = 1000m 1m = 10DM 1DM = 10cm 1cm = 10mm

1 m = 10 decimeter =100 cm =1000 mm.

The conversion formula of weight unit is:1t =1000kg1kg =1000mg.

When some children see the units of "kilometer", "meter", "ton" and "kilogram", they are completely in a state of ignorance, just memorizing formulas.

Once the topic changes slightly, they don't know what to do, such as1m = () mm. If he can't remember the formula "1m = 10 decimeter =1000 cm =1000 mm", he will probably write it.

When learning every new formula and law, teachers will repeatedly emphasize how to remember and understand, and parents should also help teachers check whether their children are proficient in these basic knowledge.

Parents can let their children say the formula first, and then test the formula on the topic. The questions are flexible, so that they can know that the child really has mastered the essentials, not just memorizing the formula.

Secondly, do every calculation problem carefully.

In primary school mathematics learning, the cultivation of computing ability is the most important part. Every grade has the learning content of calculation, such as addition and subtraction within grade one 100, multiplication and division in grade two, and mixed operation in grade three.

Is the calculation difficult? All students will say it is not difficult; Is it difficult to get full marks in calculation? All the students will say it is difficult, and even many students have never got full marks in calculation.

Although the teacher has repeatedly stressed the importance of computing, there is really not much time to take care of each child, and parents need to strengthen the training of their children's computing ability.

Parents can prepare workbooks for their children, such as "calculation experts", make one page every day, and then consolidate the review on weekends. Long-term persistence will inevitably improve the speed and accuracy of children's calculations.

Third, patiently analyze every application problem.

Application problem is the most important thing in mathematics learning. I have met some students who know every word of the application problem, but they don't know what problem the application problem needs to solve, let alone write it out to solve it.

When I analyze application problems in class, I will ask students to find out the known conditions first, then find out the problems to be solved, and finally combine the known conditions with the unknown problems to find the connection points.

If you find that your child can't find a connection point, you need to strengthen training and start practicing from the simplest list of known situations instead of reprimanding your child too quickly.

Parents should help their children to consolidate their exercises instead of telling them the answers directly, which will encourage their laziness and make them develop the bad habit of not listening carefully in class.

three

Scientific learning methods.

The study of primary school mathematics seems simple, but in fact, if you want to learn it well, you should not only have a rigorous learning attitude, but also have a scientific learning method, because rote learning is completely useless.

I met a very diligent girl this semester. She can recite all the formulas and rules, but her grades have been hovering above 70.

I analyzed her homework and test paper every time, and found that she could do the same problems as the examples in the book, but she didn't know how to change the formula as long as she changed the form a little.

What such students lack most is a scientific learning method. Summarizing from my years of teaching practice, a complete set of mathematics learning methods should include the following two points:

The first is to record the doubts before class, the key points of classroom listening and recording, and the difficulties of review after class.

Many parents are used to saying before their children go to school: "Be sure to listen to the teacher carefully in class!" There is nothing wrong with this sentence, but it will make children feel that only the classroom is important.

In fact, before class, in class and after class are equally important, but many parents ignore their children's pre-class preparation and after-class review, which leads to their children's knowledge system being chaotic.

Parents are advised to urge their children to preview and review the contents of each chapter, and they can prepare a math study note for their children. The specific contents are recorded as follows:

When previewing, draw what you don't understand and write it down in a notebook to remind yourself to listen to the teacher in class;

In class, carefully record the teacher's key contents, such as formulas and theorems, which can be represented by thick red lines;

When reviewing, write down the difficulties with reference to your notes. If you still don't understand, you can ask teachers or parents for help, and you must not let it go easily, otherwise this difficulty may become a "roadblock" for the next related content learning.

Preview and review time can be set after finishing homework every night, and you can also "shoot" the learning content of the day in your brain before going to bed, which is helpful to bring new knowledge into the mathematics learning system.

The second is to learn to draw inferences, integrate knowledge points and form a knowledge system.

Mathematics learning is closely related, and a new knowledge point always develops from an old one. For example, the learning content of "observing the shape of three-dimensional graphics composed of small cubes from three directions" in the third day of Jiangsu Education Edition.

It is based on the learning content of "Understanding Cubes and Cubes" in Senior One. If children are not proficient in the knowledge of cubes, it is impossible to learn to observe the contents of three-dimensional graphics.

When learning new content, we will review the previous related content with students first, in order to help children build a knowledge system. This process is very important.

Parents can help their children organize their mind maps after learning each chapter, and integrate the contents into the whole knowledge structure, so that children can have a systematic understanding of old and new knowledge.

There is another work. I will combine examples and exercises in class to tell students what questions can be raised on the same topic.

Parents can also strengthen the training of children's ability to draw inferences, such as exchanging questions with questions and letting children answer them. This is a very practical training method.

four

A positive learning state.

With strict learning attitude and scientific learning methods, does it mean that students will learn math well and get high marks? That's not necessarily true.

My colleague once taught a student named Li Xiang, who was a child without "ideal". His grades fluctuated. When he is serious, he can get full marks in a row. When you are not serious, you can only get a passing grade.

To say that cleverness is definitely cleverness, then why is Li Xiang's grades always unsatisfactory? In fact, what he lacks is a positive learning attitude, and there is no clear positive state of learning mathematics.

In order to make children have a positive learning state, parents need to exercise their children from the following two aspects.

First, not afraid of difficulties.

Fear of difficulties is actually everyone's instinct, and children are no exception, especially when learning a new chapter, some children will have instinctive resistance.

In class, I will introduce new learning content from life examples, such as the chapter of "litres and milliliters" in grade four, and I will bring several bottles of different sizes into class.

Let children intuitively feel the different capacity of each bottle, and then introduce the concept of "liter and milliliter" to stimulate children's interest in learning and reduce their fear of difficulties.

When parents find that their children are afraid of a chapter, they must communicate with the teacher more. Teachers will help parents mobilize their children's enthusiasm for learning and make them learn this part more confidently.

When parents need to pay attention, they must not discourage their children from learning, especially when they are already afraid of difficulties. They should give priority to encouragement and help them build their self-confidence.

The second is not afraid of trouble.

Mathematics is actually a boring and troublesome subject, especially the calculation part, from the addition and subtraction of single digits to the addition and subtraction of three and four digits, from the multiplication formula to the division of four digits by two digits.

Learning is not only more and more difficult, but also more and more complicated. If you write the wrong number in a calculation question, the result will be wrong, and all your efforts will be in vain.

In particular, some impatient children are unwilling to write calculation problems step by step, and the more wrong they are, the more troublesome they find math learning.

When parents find that their children's attitude towards mathematics learning is perfunctory and impetuous, they need to be more patient and take their children to do problems together to help them consolidate good study habits.

Where children make many mistakes, you can do more similar topics, but don't criticize children, because the more you criticize children, the less willing they are to learn, and don't let them give up math learning completely.

five

Mathematics learning in primary schools is the beginning and foundation of children's learning career. Studying hard at a cold window for twelve years is inseparable from the basic subject of mathematics. It can be said that if children do not learn math well, the possibility of being admitted to a good university in the future is very slim.

Parents must attach importance to their children's mathematics learning, especially to correct their children's learning attitude, use scientific learning methods, establish a positive learning state, and make their children's mathematics learning easier.
