The National College Entrance Examination (hereinafter referred to as "College Entrance Examination") is a selective examination for qualified high school graduates or candidates with equivalent academic qualifications in China (excluding Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Macao Special Administrative Region and Taiwan Province Province).
Ordinary colleges and universities, according to the scores of candidates, according to the established enrollment plan, comprehensively measure morality, intelligence and physical fitness, and select the best candidates. The college entrance examination is organized and dispatched by the Ministry of Education, and the examination center of the Ministry of Education or the provincial education examination institute that implements independent proposition orders the examination questions. The examination date is June 7th and 8th every year. According to the "Notice of the Ministry of Education on Doing a Good Job in the Enrollment of Colleges and Universities in 20 18", the names of the same examination subjects in all provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities) and the national unified examination must be consistent with the national unified examination schedule.
College entrance examination is not the only way for China citizens to obtain diplomas. There are also national unified entrance examination for adult colleges, self-study examination for higher education, RTVU and distance education, all of which are recognized by the state. Shanghai and Zhejiang provinces and cities began the first batch of comprehensive reform pilots of college entrance examination in 20 14, and Beijing, Tianjin, Shandong and Hainan provinces and cities began the second batch of comprehensive reform pilots of college entrance examination in 20 17.
