Who is your favorite mathematician and why?
Qiu Chengtong, a Chinese American, is the only China native who won the Fields Medal. He is a Grand Slam winner of Fields Prize, Wolf Prize and Crawford Prize (the three are called Nobel Prizes for Mathematicians). Known as the "Emperor of Mathematics", he is now an academician of the American Academy of Sciences, a professor at Harvard University and a foreign academician of the China Academy of Sciences. The model derived from Calabi's conjecture, which proved a difficult mathematical problem at a young age, is called "Calabi Gully Flow Model". Later, Qiu Chengtong Mathematics Center was established in Tsinghua University, which promoted the development of mathematics in China. The two things that impressed me the most, first, the profound humanistic accomplishment, and the profound literary accomplishment embodied in the speech of Zhejiang University, can be said that the humanistic accomplishment of any master is essential. Secondly, the family poverty in childhood honed Mr. Qiu's perseverance, so he said in his speech: Because of this poor period, I am not afraid of anything.
