The word "China Academy of Sciences" in the outer ring was written by Guo Moruo, the first president, in English. Inside the ring is a material structure pattern composed of six crystals, which symbolizes the basic functions of the integration and combination of six disciplines: mathematics, physics, chemistry, astronomy, geoscience and biology. A gear is naturally formed in the middle, which symbolizes the promotion of technical science derived from the condensation of basic science.

Second, color.

The outer ring, the six crystals in the ring and the dot in the middle are Kong Quelan; The Chinese and foreign characters of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the outer part of the crystal in the ring are all white.

Third, meaning.

The whole design is solemn and generous. It symbolizes that China Academy of Sciences, as the national natural science and high-tech R&D center, is facing the national strategic needs and the world scientific frontier, strengthening the original scientific innovation, strengthening the integration of key technological innovations, climbing the world scientific peak, and constantly making fundamental, strategic and forward-looking major innovative contributions to China's economic construction, national security and social sustainable development.
