During the summer vacation, the emerging technology promotion base in Yongchun High School was full of busy atmosphere.

In the e-sports classroom, students are trying to modify the programming language to test whether the robot Bobby dances as expected. At the other end of the computer classroom, teachers are working on the research of "robot running", trying to make words appear on the robot display through the webcam. These two activities are organized by the Emerging Science and Technology Promotion Center of Yongchun High School, one is a summer camp for students and the other is a training camp for in-service teachers.

In 20 18, Yongchun senior high school added 3R science and technology classroom, 3A e-sports classroom and virtual studio. This is an experience center set up by the Ministry of Education to let teachers and students experience the mysteries of emerging technologies.

This summer vacation, Yongchun intensively opened teacher empowerment courses and experience camps. From the creation of virtual reality design with AR/VR, the board game of Bahai programming logic, to learning to program AI robot programming, the weekly courses are uninterrupted, and one is more popular than the other. Speaking of course registration, Ceng Qingliang is full of pride: "It often takes us ten or twenty minutes to register, and then it is full. Ceng Qingliang believes that the key to the success of the North District Promotion Center lies in ── step by step. For example, AR/VR was promoted last year, and AI artificial intelligence and big data were added this year. It is expected to join the ADAS autopilot system next year. Each stage is steady and steady, gradually deepening and broadening, so that the curriculum system can be carried out in an orderly manner.

Last year, the promotion center focused on raising public awareness of emerging technologies, and this year it returned to teacher teaching.

The content of the course has progressed from AR/VR to AI, and it has also continued last year's course, deepening and broadening the content. This year, the teachers who participated in the learning activities were invited to provide a lesson plan for integrating technology into teaching and compile it into a book. Zhang Yunbang said: "If you make a copy yourself, you can also get someone else's lesson plan. It is sharing that makes everyone go further. 」

Ceng Qingliang said frankly that AI has just started, and the course still stays in the unit to help teachers establish thinking logic. Therefore, there is no clear direction on how to use AI in teaching. For example, at the beginning of this year's AI course, a teacher asked the professor, "If I have already made the first and second exam papers, can the computer help me make a good third exam paper according to the previous questions?" The professor replied directly, "I can't do it." Because the teacher doesn't know that this requires extremely complicated settings and huge data, the teacher's understanding of AI is still vague.

However, Zhang Yunmeng believes that teachers can correctly capture AI technology and develop course materials after they are familiar with the concepts. In fact, AI is not the only one who has encountered such a dilemma. In the past, when promoting other technologies, teachers often found that they didn't know which parts of his classroom could use AR and which parts could use VR, because they didn't understand the characteristics and functions of these technologies at all.

Zhang Yunmeng recalled that in the 1990s, the Ministry of Education promoted the integration of PPT into teaching, just as today's promotion centers promoted the integration of AR, AI and other technologies into teaching. She sighed: "Which teacher can't use PPT now? Maybe a few years later, every teacher is using AI, AR and VR, just like PPT. 」

"How to improve the motivation is actually a major difficulty in the center. Zhang Yunmeng mentioned that the North District Promotion Center faces a great challenge, which is actually to expand the teacher class group. According to statistics, the number of new teachers is decreasing, and most of the teachers who signed up for the activities have settled down.

After several years of promotion, teachers have gradually established their own communities, and the concepts and technologies of emerging science and technology teaching have gradually penetrated into teachers' hearts.
