Mathematics majors can generally be divided into two categories: basic mathematics (which may be what you call pure mathematics)&; Applied mathematics.
Basic mathematics is biased towards scientific research, and most students who are determined to do this will go to graduate school, study PhD and start their own scientific research career. If you are looking for a job, it is actually related to your major, but it is not necessarily related. You can go to banks, financial institutions, teachers and so on.
There are many applied mathematics, which may involve some knowledge of computer programming, so the application space is relatively large, and everything I do after graduation is actually ok.
Most students majoring in mathematics will still choose to take the postgraduate entrance examination, or continue their research in this major, or specialize in an application; Or transfer to other majors.
Anyway, I wish you a rich and colorful college life and smooth work after graduation.
