Chen Guiqiang introduced
Chen Guiqiang, 1963, was born in Cixi, Ningbo, Zhejiang on May 25th. 1978 entered the mathematics department of Fudan university, 1982 obtained the bachelor of science degree, 1987 obtained the doctor of science degree from China Academy of Sciences (under the guidance of Academician Ding), became the youngest doctor in the field of mathematical physics in China at that time, and was awarded as an outstanding young scientist by Beijing Science and Technology Commission. After graduation, he worked in Courand Institute of Mathematics in new york, USA (postdoctoral fellow, studied under the famous mathematician Peter D. Lacks), and visited the University of Chicago, Princeton Institute for Advanced Studies, Berkeley Institute of Mathematics, etc. Since 1996, he has been a tenured professor in the Department of Mathematics of Northwest University. At that time, he was one of the youngest tenured professors in the United States. In 2009, he was hired as the chief professor by Oxford University in the United Kingdom. Professor Chen Guiqiang was the chairman (2009- 10) and director (2005-06) of the SIAM partial differential equations group. He is a member of the American Mathematical Society, the London Mathematical Society and the American Committee for Industrial and Applied Mathematics, and serves as the editorial board of many mathematics and physics magazines all over the world.
