Lu's student days.
Lu, male, 19 16, was born in a scholar's family in Changzhou, Jiangsu on July 22nd, 2006. He was influenced by the family style of attaching importance to traditional moral education since childhood. When I was nine years old, because my parents died one after another, I went to my uncle's house in Beiping and studied ancient Chinese poetry with my tutor. Shortly thereafter, he moved to Shanghai with his uncle's family and began to study in local primary schools. At that time, English courses had been offered in primary schools in Shanghai. He didn't have a basic knowledge of English and arithmetic before, but he quickly caught up with it with amazing perseverance and entered junior high school after only one semester. Just after finishing the second grade, he passed the exam and entered the first grade of school. A year later, he was admitted to a well-known Shanghai middle school as a sophomore. 1935, it took him only five and a half years to complete the primary and secondary school courses that usually took 12 years, and he obtained the high school diploma of Shanghai middle school with excellent results. At that time, he applied for three universities: Tsinghua, Jiaotong University and Zhejiang University. In order to solve the source of funds needed to go to college, I also applied for the poor education fund founded by Mr. Wu, a national capitalist. These colleges and universities have accepted him. He decided to go to Tsinghua University. After arriving at school, he was informed by Jiangsu Province that he was awarded a scholarship to Jiangsu Province because he was among the best in the examination for middle school graduates in Jiangsu Province. After finishing the first semester in Tsinghua, he felt that he preferred basic science, but after being told that he had to reread the first-year courses if he wanted to transfer to the Department of Physics, he decided to transfer to the Department of Electrical Engineering.

1937 during the summer vacation, sophomores from various universities in Beiping participated in the military training of general Xiyuan Military Camp of Nanjing National Government. On July 7, Japanese militarists launched a war of aggression against China. As soon as the military training was over, he took the train back to Shanghai to visit his uncle. Soon, he learned from the newspaper that Tsinghua, Peking University and Nankai were building Changsha Temporary University in Changsha, and War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression was expanding day by day, so he went to Changsha to borrow money from Hunan University. In less than a year, I moved to Kunming with my school, continued to study in the newly renamed Southwest United University, and graduated from 1939.

After graduating from college, I worked as a teaching assistant in Kunming Tsinghua University Broadcasting Institute for one year, during which I passed the fifth boxer indemnity public-funded study abroad. 1940 transferred to Kunming wireless power plant under the jurisdiction of Chongqing National Government Resources Committee. 194 1 year, he went to hongkong and prepared to go abroad with other students who won the fifth boxer indemnity study abroad. Unexpectedly, when he went to the US Consulate in Hong Kong to apply for a visa, he thought he had trachoma and told him that he needed to be cured in Hong Kong before issuing it. Unexpectedly, the game dragged on to the Pacific War, and Hong Kong was occupied by the Japanese invaders, which also hindered his study in the United States. At that time, in the name of Huiyang people returning to their hometowns, Lu managed to walk from Kowloon to Huiyang, then returned to Kunming via Shaoguan, and still worked in Kunming Wireless Power Plant.

1943 In the summer, Tsinghua University Radio Research Institute informed him to go abroad. The visa to the United States went smoothly this time. Because of the war, he went through India, South Africa, South America and Panama Canal to new york, and finally to Boston. That autumn, I entered the Department of Electrical Engineering of the Graduate School of Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and studied microwave technology, radar, communication and automatic control, electromagnetic field theory and mathematical physics methods, which developed rapidly at that time. 1June, 944, he obtained the Master of Science degree from the Research Paper on LFM Signal Frequency Monitor and was elected as a member of Ximaxi. In the same year, he entered the Graduate School of Applied Science of Harvard University for further study. During this period, he set up a set of device to measure ionospheric absorption by comparing echo amplitudes, and based on this, he obtained the observation data for a quarter, and obtained the results consistent with Charpmam theory. 1947 In February, the research paper "Diurnal Variation of Ionospheric Radio Wave Absorption" based on this research result was awarded the doctorate of philosophy. This is the first time that China people have studied the important achievements of ionospheric absorption with their own instruments. Later, he joined the Cruft laboratory of Harvard University to study ionospheric physics and radio wave propagation in the ionosphere. During this period, he independently designed and installed an instrument to receive foreign radio signals and measure their angle of arrival, which was the first time that China people successfully studied the measurement of the angle of arrival of radio waves.

During his study in the United States, Lu deeply realized the differences between American society and China society, western culture and China traditional culture, and the development stages between China and the United States, which prompted him to think about social and philosophical issues. From about 1948, American news media; He was encouraged by the news that the Civil Liberation War had won one victory after another. He was eager to know about China's revolution and Marxist thought, so he went to a bookstore run by Chinese people and bought some pamphlets about China revolution and some classic works about Marxism. After careful reading, he thought that the people of China who had suffered a lot would be completely liberated under the leadership of the China Production Party and must build a new country after the victory of the revolution. Building a new China is a great cause and an arduous task, and it certainly needs all kinds of talents. Therefore, in the summer of 1949, he resolutely decided to return to China and make contributions to the construction of the motherland. At that time, there was no regular sea transportation from the United States to the Far East, and only a cargo ship from San Francisco to the Far East was occasionally available. He went to San Francisco to wait for the ship temporarily, and didn't get on a cargo ship until the autumn of 1949. There was no berth for passengers on board, so we had to stay in the cabin below the deck and go through all the hardships to come to Hong Kong. At that time, there was no normal traffic between Hong Kong and Guangzhou, so we had to take a small cargo ship to Tanggu. He came to Beijing, which happened to be the "Eleventh founding ceremony".
