Chen Shengshen, the first person in mathematics in China, was born in Xiushui County, Jiaxing, Zhejiang. One of the greatest geometricians in the 20th century is known as the father of global differential geometry. 1930 graduated from Tianjin Nankai university, and 1934 obtained the master of science degree from Tsinghua University. 1936, Ph.D. degree from Hamburg University, 1938, Professor The National SouthWest Associated University. 1943 used to be a researcher at Princeton Institute for Advanced Studies, 1946 used to be the acting director of the Institute of Mathematics of Nanjing Academia Sinica, and 1949 used to be a professor at the University of Chicago.
