In a certain period, two manufacturers, A and B, respectively produced old razors (blades can not be replaced) and new razors (blades can be replaced). Information about sales strategy and price is shown in the following table:

During a certain period of time, Factory A sold 8,400 razors, while Factory B sold 50 times as many blades as tool holders, and the profit earned by Factory B was twice as much as that of Factory A. How many tool holders did Factory B sell during this period? How many blades?

An old razor, a new razor

Price 2.5 (1) Tool rest blade

4 (yuan/article) 0.55 (yuan/article)

Cost 2 (yuan/article) 1 (yuan/article) 0.05 (yuan/article)

Solution: If Factory B sells X tool rest and 50X blade.

(2.5-2)×8400×2 =( 1-5)X+(0.55-0.5)50X

8400 = -4X+25X

8400 =2 1X

X =400

Blade: 400×50=20000 (pieces)

Answer: Factory B sold 400 tool holders and 20,000 blades.
