What measures are there to reduce the burden in Shanghai?
Primary school students, especially junior students, have a heavy academic burden, which has always been the focus of social attention. In order to alleviate this problem, the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission has continuously introduced reform measures for many years:

First, in order to implement the guiding ideology of "health first" and increase the sleep time of primary school students, the schedule of primary and secondary schools in the city has been adjusted since the 2007 school year, and the collective education and teaching activities in primary schools have been arranged after 8: 15;

Secondly, in view of the maladjustment of primary school freshmen, starting from the 2007 school year, our city has set up a study preparation period of 2-4 weeks for primary school freshmen to strengthen the connection between primary schools and kindergartens, so as to facilitate students to adapt to the study life of primary schools as soon as possible and adjust the teaching hours, contents and requirements of Chinese, mathematics and foreign languages in primary schools.

Third, starting from 20 10, explore the research on the green index system of compulsory education academic quality, pay attention to the growth and burden of students, guide teachers to improve teaching quality, and pay attention to the relationship between teachers and students.

Fourth, starting from the 20 1 1 school year, the "Happy Activity Day" will be further tried out in primary schools in the city. By innovating the curriculum implementation mode, integrating some extended and inquiry courses, and concentrating on half a day every week, the relevant teaching tasks are completed in the form of student activities. Activities mainly include class team activities, sports activities, community service and social practice, special education and other limited expansion activities, as well as self-expansion exploration, interest activities, social surveys, visits and other practical activities designed by the school itself.
