For more than 70 years, especially for more than 20 years of reform and opening up, the School of Mathematical Sciences has formed a multi-level and multi-type school-running pattern based on "serving basic education", combining with reality, highlighting characteristics, seizing opportunities and boldly exploring. At present, the college has the right to award master's degrees in mathematics, including six master's degrees in basic mathematics, applied mathematics, probability theory and mathematical statistics, computational mathematics, operational research and cybernetics, and curriculum and teaching theory (mathematics), among which basic mathematics is listed as a key discipline in the autonomous region. The college offers full-time undergraduate majors in mathematics and applied mathematics, which is a high-quality major in Guangxi universities; Set up two correspondence undergraduate majors: mathematics and applied mathematics, information and computational science. This college enjoys a high reputation in Guangxi's education system. Most of its graduates teach and educate people in the front line of teaching. Almost all key high schools in Guangxi have graduates from this college, and now most of them have become the backbone of teaching or leadership positions and become the backbone of the general education system in the autonomous region.
