General method of drawing function image

(1) direct method: When function expressions (or deformed expressions) are familiar basic functions, they can be made directly according to the characteristics of these functions.

(2) Transformation method: If the image of a basic function can be translated, folded and symmetrical, it can be made by image transformation, but attention should be paid to the transformation order. The familiar basic function cannot be found directly without deformation, and attention should be paid to the influence of the order of translation transformation and expansion transformation on the transformation unit and analytical formula.

Example: An image that performs the following functions:

( 1)y = | log2(x+ 1)|;

(2) y = x 2-2| x |- 1。

Analysis:

(1) (transformation method) Move the image with function y = log2x to the left by one unit, and then fold the part below the X axis up along the X axis to get the function y = | log2 (x+ 1) |, as shown in figure (1).

(2) (direct method) y = image as shown in Figure (2).
