Historical Evolution of School of Mathematical Sciences, Beijing Normal University
The Department of Mathematical Physics is the second department of mathematics in China, with a preparatory course 1 year and a three-year undergraduate course. The first director was Liu Zihou and the second director was Zhang (1920 ~ 192 1 school year).

1In the autumn of 922, Beijing Normal University officially renamed the Department of Mathematics and Physics as the Department of Mathematics, and Feng Zuxun was also the head of the Department of Mathematics. 1926 graduated 4 people;

1 923 July1,Beijing Normal University was changed to National Beijing Normal University, which started on September 28th.

1956, the cartography major of the Department of Cartography was merged into the Department of Mathematics;

1958 the department of mathematics decided to set up a major in computational mathematics and computational technology.

1983, Mathematics and Mathematics Education Institute was established;

On March 1 2004, the school decided to set up the School of Mathematical Sciences. The School of Mathematical Sciences has two departments: the Department of Mathematics and the Department of Statistics and Financial Mathematics.
