Mathematical application problems. Relating to cylinders.
The volume of cylinder exposed to water is

v 1 = sh = pi * 10 * 10 * 8 = 800 pi

At this point, the water surface dropped by 4 cm.

In other words, if the cylinder is completely out of the water, the water level will drop by 6 cm.

So the ratio of the volume of the remaining cylinder to the volume exposed to the water surface

V2/V 1=6/4

Get the volume of the remaining cylinder v2 =1.5 * v1=1200 pi.

Therefore, the total volume of the cylinder is v1+v2 =1200 * pi+800pi = 2000 * pi = 6280 cubic centimeters.
