The Egyptians wrote about 3500 BC. The earliest preserved paper cursive script recording mathematical knowledge is now in the British Museum. It was written by Amos who lived from 1600 BC to 1800 BC. From the papyrus, it is found that the ancient Egyptians have learned to use mathematics to manage state and religious affairs, determine the remuneration paid to workers, require the volume of barns and the area of fields, collect local taxes according to the area of land, and so on. One-dimensional linear equations and a kind of special problems equivalent to binary quadratic equations, as well as problems about arithmetic progression and geometric series. They learned to calculate the area of rectangle, triangle and trapezoid, the volume of cuboid, cylinder and frustum, and the results were close to the modern calculation values. And they use the formula A = (8/9d) 2, (d is the diameter) to calculate the circular area, which is equivalent to taking π as 3.6544.
The pyramid is the tomb of Pharaoh, who was the emperor of ancient Egypt. Today, there are more than 70 pyramids scattered in the south of the Nile Delta. The Apps Pyramid of Emperor Qi is the largest one, with a square base of 146 and a length of 233 meters (now 227 meters) of 5 meters (now it is higher than 137 meters due to damage). And the error of each bottom length is only 65438 meters. Only the total length is114000, and the right angle error of the base is only 12 ",and only the right angle is 1/27000. In addition, the right side of the pyramid faces southeast and northwest, and the deviation between the two sides of the bottom square and true north is only 2' 30 "respectively.
Such a tall pyramid and such a high construction precision made scientists believe that the ancient Egyptians had a wealth of geometric knowledge. Finally, we got the confirmation from the words on papyrus.
