Is the scientific mathematical analysis of economics useful?
Are you a freshman? If you want to take the postgraduate entrance examination, you must learn mathematical analysis and advanced algebra well, but don't care too much about proof. As you said, taking the economic postgraduate exam means taking the number three, with more calculation questions and less proof questions. I suggest that when I was in college, I should master the relevant calculation formulas and useful theorems of integral (including indefinite integral, definite integral, double integral, triple integral, curve integral and surface integral) and differential in mathematical analysis. In advanced algebra, you only need to master the knowledge of determinant, matrix, equation and quadratic form. To tell the truth, there are few places where college mathematics is used in the courses of college economics. Basically, it is ok to be good at math in high school. But I don't encourage you not to study these courses well. If you want to get a scholarship, you still have to study hard. Even if you want to take the postgraduate entrance examination and learn these courses well, you will definitely have an advantage in mathematics.
