Can I go to the UK as long as I have an A-level?
Studying in the UK is not just A-level!

The Advanced Course of General Education Certificate (A-Level course for short) is an advanced course of the British General Certificate of Secondary Education Examination, a national curriculum system in Britain, and a college entrance examination course for British students. Just like the college entrance examination in China, A-Level course certificate is regarded as the admission standard for almost all English-taught universities. Offering A-Level courses in China aims to provide China students with an effective way to enter foreign universities. The specific objectives are: to train students with excellent grades in junior and senior high schools in China to enter the world's top universities; Cultivate students with moderate grades in junior and senior high schools in China to enter world-class universities; Cultivate students with average grades in junior and senior high schools in China to be admitted to universities that suit them.

In Britain, A-level courses are easy to learn. Many universities and professional competitions require not only higher A-Level scores, but also some corresponding certificate exams and some interviews, in order to screen out the most powerful students from a large number of students.

Different majors need different certificate exams. Let's take a closer look at what exams are needed.

1BMAT biomedical entrance examination

The full name of BMAT is Biomedical Entrance Examination, or Biomedical Entrance Examination. As the name implies, it is aimed at students who want to study medicine, veterinary medicine and related disciplines.

Medical major is the most difficult major to apply for in Britain. If you graduate from a domestic undergraduate medical major, it is basically impossible for you to go directly to the UK to study for a master's degree in medicine. And if you apply for a British medical undergraduate course, it means that you not only have to get the best A-level scores, but also take one more entrance exam than other students, which is the legendary BMAT.

The goal of BMAT is to study children's shoes in medical, veterinary and related disciplines. BMAT exams are usually held in October every year. Although it is difficult, there are only a few requirements from universities and majors:

Cambridge University: Medicine, Veterinary Medicine

Oxford University: Medicine, Biomedical Science, Biomedical Science and Management.

Imperial College London: Medicine and Biomedical Science.

Royal Veterinary College

UCL: Medicine

Brighton and Sussex Medical College: Medicine

University of Leeds: Medicine, Dentistry

2MAT mathematics entrance examination

Only two universities require MAT scores, namely Oxford and Imperial College. Math-related majors in Oxford and Imperial College require MAT scores, and two computer science-related majors in Oxford also require MAT scores.

MAT exams are usually held on 1 1 month every year.

3-step math exam

Steps The general examination time is June every year. The STEP math exam is mainly used to apply for all math-related majors in Cambridge and Warwick. In addition, some colleges in Cambridge also require children's shoes in computer science, economics, engineering and natural science to provide STEP scores. For Oxford, applying for mathematics requires MAT scores, but their family also encourages students to provide STEP scores.

There are also some universities that make it clear that the results of STEP are very helpful for applying for mathematics majors:

Royal College, KCL, Loughborough University, UCL, Bath University and Bristol University.

4TSA thinking skill test

At present, only three universities in the world require children's shoes to provide TSA scores, but the problem is that each university's TSA exam is different. However, not every major needs TSA scores, only these majors need:

Cambridge University: computer science, economics, engineering, history, human, social and political science, land economics, natural science (physics and biology), psychology and behavioral science.

Oxford University: Psychology and Philosophy, Experimental Psychology, Psychology and Linguistics, Economics and Management, Philosophy, Politics and Economics, Geography, Philosophy and Linguistics.

UCL: Social and Political Studies in Europe

Although the TSA test in each university is different, it basically tests students' problem-solving ability and critical thinking ability. But for these three universities, the required majors are very different. Cambridge focuses on science and engineering, Oxford focuses on psychology and humanities, and UCL focuses on politics.
