Mathematical modeling competition generally refers to Chinese college students' mathematical modeling competition. Founded in 1992, it is held once a year, and now it has become the largest basic subject competition in colleges and universities in China and the largest mathematical modeling competition in the world. In 20 18, more than 449 colleges/campuses and 42 128 teams from all over the country, the United States and Singapore signed up for this competition.
The national mathematical modeling competition for college students is one of the largest extracurricular scientific and technological activities in colleges and universities in China. The competition is held in September every year. The competition is open to college students all over the country, regardless of major. All college students can take part in the undergraduate competition. Students can consult the academic affairs department of the school, and if necessary, they can directly contact the organizing committee of the national competition or the organizing committee of each competition area.
Mathematical model competition is a mathematical expression of practical problems. Specifically, a mathematical model is an abstract and simplified mathematical structure of some real worlds for a certain purpose. More precisely, the mathematical model is a mathematical structure obtained by making some necessary simplified assumptions and using appropriate mathematical tools according to unique internal laws, aiming at specific objects and specific goals.
