Without a diploma, you can have a culture;
Without education, you can have the ability;
Just like without beauty, you can have temperament;
No one can stop you unless you don't want it yourself!
The college entrance examination can't decide your fate!
Hello, classmates!
Suddenly found that the annual college entrance examination is coming again. As a person who was "tossed" by the college entrance examination that year, I can't help but fall into reflection again. The people on the list, the losers, and tens of millions of students have had a major turning point in their lives.
What should I do after the turning point? Those on the list can continue to follow the route designed by the educational model for four years. What about those who failed the list? What about the road of life? So this inspired me to write this letter. I dropped out of high school because I was afraid of the college entrance examination. I have some words for you.
First of all, briefly introduce my growth process.
I was born in 1980. 1996 was admitted to the county key high school, 199 dropped out of school.
At that time, my grade in senior three was on the edge of the admission score line, which means I was admitted carelessly, but I was not admitted carelessly. In that case, I am under great pressure: what if I fail the exam? What do my friends, relatives and teachers think of me? Finally, I couldn't resist this pressure, dropped out of school early and escaped the college entrance examination. Having said that, I want to say: I didn't even have the courage to take the college entrance examination at that time, but you all bravely persisted. From this point of view, you are better than me!
The psychological impact brought by the pressure of the college entrance examination in those days still exists now. Just last night, I dreamed of the college entrance examination again. In fact, every year after dropping out of school, during the college entrance examination, I dream, either nightmares, nervousness and fear before the college entrance examination, or dreams of happiness after being admitted to college.
After dropping out of school, I spent 1.5 years at home-I worked in a construction site, a factory, a rural area, and a small business-and later felt that I couldn't go on like this and came to Jinan at the age of 20. Because I don't have a degree, I can't find a decent job at all, so I just need to work in a restaurant, as a vegetable delivery worker, a handyman and a dishwasher.
I never gave up the opportunity to find a "decent" job while working in a hotel. Finally, at the age of 2 1, I joined a small advertising company to do copywriting planning. As a result, he was promoted to project manager in less than 2 months and became planning director in 3 months. During my stay in the advertising company, I organized some of my ideas into articles and sent them to some magazines, and the results were published. So at the age of 22, he began to become the most authoritative magazine and website columnist in China, such as Sales and Market and China Marketing Communication Network.
That year, my article was read by the boss of a famous enterprise, and he hired me as the brand director. That year, I began to hold public lectures on national brands and was invited to give special lectures at universities.
Later, my development began to enter the highway:
At the age of 23, several enterprises and consulting and planning companies began to look for me as a brand consultant. At that time, my monthly income exceeded 6,543,800 yuan.
At the age of 24, marketing planning agencies, then famous in China and the largest in Shandong Province, asked me to be the general manager and was hired as the director and researcher of Shandong Management Research Association.
At the age of 25, he won the "Special Contributor to Brand Building in China" Award in the Great Hall of the People;
At the age of 26, he founded an Italian partner brand planning company in Shanghai, and once conducted brand planning and consulting services for many well-known brands;
At the age of 27, I bought my favorite BMW.
28-year-old, with Mr. Kai-fu Lee, global vice president of Google, Mr. Chen Chaoyi, the first president of China, and other domestic and foreign education experts, as my expert consultant of learning network; He began to lecture in colleges and universities, and was hired as a special expert and a growth consultant for college students by many colleges and universities such as Shandong University.
Ok, now I want to talk to you about several important points:
First, poor grades do not mean poor ability;
Poor exam results can only prove that your cultural achievements are not good enough. But people's success needs comprehensive ability, and cultural division is only one aspect. For example, communication ability, ability to find problems, ability to solve problems, ability to overcome difficulties and so on.
In fact, the phenomenon of high scores and low abilities has become a serious problem in our education. Because too much attention is paid to academic performance and too much pursuit of high scores, other comprehensive abilities are lacking.
Zhu Qingshi, former president of China University of Science and Technology and academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences, once lamented: "The pursuit of high-scoring education by prestigious schools is actually the most unfavorable for talents. The high score pressure of prestigious schools has killed many outstanding talents. "
Mr. Chen Shengshen, a famous mathematician, wrote an inscription for the junior class of the University of Science and Technology of China: Don't take the exam 100. This makes many parents don't understand: who doesn't want their children to get full marks? Zhu Qingshi understood the meaning of teacher Chen's sentence: students should get 70 to 80 points for learning and mastering the essence. Don't waste time on details to get 100. Zhu Qingshi said, "Don't ruin children's innovative ability, waste their intelligence, distort their personality and morality, and turn them into examination machines."
Therefore, it is precisely because "good students" are too obedient to our "exam-oriented" education model and are too eager for high marks. Therefore, while they get good grades, they also imprison their own thoughts and other abilities.
According to Tian Wenjiang, deputy director of Wuhan Education Bureau, who holds a doctor's degree and is an expert in China's educational strategy research, the first survey on the workplace situation of top scholars in China shows that during the 30 years from 65438 to 0977, top scholars in all provinces in China were wiped out, and no outstanding talents in politics, business and learning were found.
On the other hand, some students with poor grades are not good enough because they have too many ideas and too lively brains. However, the way of thinking and the ability to solve problems have been greatly improved, laying a more solid foundation for them to enter the society and create value in the future.
Sadly, this view has not attracted the attention of the society, and the idea of "taking one exam for life" has always prevailed: how many students have been poisoned by the idea of "I will die if I don't get into college"? How many families are poisoned?
Second, you just lost the list, not the list!
What is a list of failures? As the name implies, it means "drop" and "drop", which means it's over. Really? Is it really over? Certainly not! Therefore, if you don't get into the university, it will be called "failing the list" at best, and you accidentally lost a development opportunity on the list. The meaning behind it is: you have other ways to grow and develop.
"Failing the list" means that you are not behind. It just proves that you are not suitable for taking the "exam" road, and you need to choose another road. The road to success is different, and each has its own achievements. The road is different.
Why do you still use the concept of poisoning people in feudal society, that is, falling off the list and falling out of Sun Shan?
Originally, a student was full of confidence and passion for life, but teachers and parents always said: it's over if you don't get into college! When I really didn't go to college, my parents panicked: it's over! I lost the list! Lost in Sun Shan! What can a child do in his life? Such an idea greatly obliterates the confidence and passion of students to continue to grow! This is the biggest poison!
Therefore, for students who have not been admitted to the university, for teachers and parents, not being admitted to the university is not a failure, but if you can't treat the attitude of "ranking" correctly, it is a real failure. If you think you have failed, you will lose not only the college entrance examination, but your confidence in your whole life!
In fact, our education has begun to reform: Dai Jiagan, director of the Teacher Center of the Ministry of Education, pointed out that one exam can't determine one's life, and the future college entrance examination system will include academic level test and comprehensive evaluation to change the way of "one exam determines one's life".
What does this prove? It proves that if this reform is implemented, those who have not been admitted to the university may be admitted, and some who have been admitted to the university may not be admitted.
The vast majority of so-called "failed students" failed not because they didn't go to college, but because society positioned you as "finished". 10 years ago, I didn't go to college. In that more social environment, I feel more stressed and feel inferior. However, I never gave up. In turn, I turned this powerful inferiority complex into motivation. In a speech when I walked into Shanda University, a classmate asked me: What is the motivation for you to grow up so hard over the years? I said, "It's a heartfelt inferiority complex! Since I dropped out of high school, I feel that many people around me have begun to "deny" me and "ridicule" me, so I feel inferior. I have been studying hard to prove that I am not bad.
Students, the college entrance examination, this time did not prove yourself, then change the route to prove yourself!
So students, please remember: the so-called "failing the list" is just another starting point of life.
The so-called "failing the exam" only proves that you are not suitable for the exam, and there are many other routes to choose from.
Third, if the college entrance examination fails, there are still many development paths to choose from;
First of all, you can choose to repeat.
If your grades are a little worse just because you didn't do well in the exam, or your grades are lagging behind in a certain subject, you can choose to repeat to make up for your shortcomings. Repetition, you delay a year's time, in exchange for a lifetime of growth opportunities.
My good friend Mr. Liu Yuetan is a touching case. He studied in general since he was a child, and failed in the senior high school entrance examination in primary school, junior high school and senior high school. After failing the college entrance examination for the first time, he chose to repeat, and as a result, he was barely admitted to an ordinary university. However, when he arrived at the university, the open learning environment made him out of control: first, he was promoted to undergraduate, then he took the postgraduate entrance examination, then he studied for a doctorate, and then he was sent by the Ministry of Education to the University of Missouri, the world's top marketing and communication university, to study as a postdoctoral fellow. Now he has returned to China to work as an assistant dean, associate professor and master tutor in the School of Literature and Communication of Shandong University. You can search for "Liu Yuetan" on the Internet and visit his blog to find out.
Secondly, you can choose to teach yourself.
If you have obvious hobbies, you should pursue them and learn by yourself. Like me, I love advertising very much. The happiest thing every day is learning advertising and brand planning. As a result, I can develop in a few years.
My good friend, Mr. Su Qiang, studied engineering in college and dropped out in his junior year. Although he didn't finish college, he loved marketing very much and devoted himself to it. Later, he was hired by Jiante Company in Shi Yuzhu (a company dealing in melatonin and gold partnership). After several years of training, he has now become an expert in marketing, a columnist in the most authoritative magazines and websites in marketing, and an expert in universities. You can search "Su Qiang Marketing" on the Internet to get to know him.
There are countless examples of not going to college, but studying, developing and growing according to your own interests.
If you teach yourself, you can choose to study for a period of time (I have worked in the countryside for more than a year, but I actually studied advertising planning knowledge at home), or you can choose to take part in a specific job and study while working.
Stepping into society means stepping into social universities, and society itself and a job itself are the best universities. Just graduated, we do have many shortcomings, such as lack of professional knowledge and social skills, but it doesn't matter. We can choose a basic job to do first. The key is to learn, study and grow in the process of work. Don't be satisfied and stagnate just because you find a job.
In the process of work, you can read a lot of books, participate in many practices and learn from other predecessors of the company through the company's resource platform, which is a good way to learn and grow. You can also choose some social training according to your shortcomings to enrich your life after work, such as the professional training you are engaged in, the training of basic knowledge such as English and computer, the training of business etiquette and interpersonal communication, and so on.
In short, if you have the opportunity, go to participate and study. Don't take making money as an important thing, just think of it as four years in school after you have a job! Four years later, you may be more capable than your classmates who just graduated from college!
Fourth, not going to college does not mean that you can't read college books and listen to college classes;
I didn't walk into the gate of the university, but the books of the university are open and the classrooms of the university are open. We can choose a professional college textbook to read according to our personal preferences, even work near the university, or often go to the university classroom to listen to lectures.
You may wonder: why didn't I go to college, then work at home and go to work in the city, and then I can develop in such a short time?
What I want to tell you is that although I dropped out of school and went home, I never gave up studying. Although my grades in science were poor at that time, my grades in liberal arts were not bad. I like books on literature, management, marketing and advertising very much. Since I dropped out of school, I have been reading books in this field everywhere, whether it is college textbooks for related majors or various related books in bookstores.
By the time I had the opportunity to work in an advertising company, I had actually studied in this professional field for nearly three years, and I was eager to learn. What impressed me more was that I went to Xinhua Bookstore to "steal books" at that time: because I couldn't afford books, I went to the bookstore to read books on Saturday and Sunday and finished reading one in two days. Because I can't afford it, I will concentrate on cherishing every minute of reading and read the book clearly in two days. This reading efficiency is very high.
So what I want to say is: in fact, there is no shortcut for everyone's growth and development. As long as you study hard and work hard, growth and development are inevitable, but when you meet an opportunity that day, it seems to be "suddenly" developed in the eyes of others. In fact, behind this, it must be your own efforts.
The biggest reason for your poor grades in high school is that you don't like learning those things. I did the same in high school. The teacher I like to learn won't let me learn, and the teacher I don't like forces you to learn. Every day is painful. All right! Now that I have graduated from high school, I am finally free, and I can finally choose what I like to learn! You can buy textbooks and books in this field, and you can take part in this work and grow up from the grassroots. One day, you will make extraordinary achievements!
Speaking of which, I have one more thing to tell you: after graduating from high school, we have learned a lot of knowledge. Don't think that after graduating from high school, I am an "uneducated" person who can only do some basic labor. No! In fact, when we graduate from high school, we have enough knowledge to develop ourselves in a certain field.
Speaking of which, I also want to say: academic ability, that is, learning ability, is much more important than academic qualifications! What a person has achieved is not how much he has learned in school, but his ability to keep learning all his life. The president of a university in Shanghai once said at the graduation ceremony: When you leave this school, half of what you have learned is useless. Is to tell everyone to keep learning all their lives.
So, class! Please remember! The key to success in life is not how much you learn on campus, but more importantly, whether you persist in learning.
