Qinglong Gorge is a 4A national scenic spot, located at the mouth of the ancient Great Wall in Huaibei Town, Huairou District, Beijing, 75 kilometers away from Beijing Sanyuan Bridge. It is a natural scenic spot integrating green mountains, green waters and the ancient Great Wall. In the 1970s, the first concrete gravity arch dam with a height of 59 meters, a length of 283 meters and a width of 4 meters in Beijing was built at the outlet of Dashuiyu Reservoir, forming a canyon reservoir with a storage capacity of 6.5438+0.46 million cubic meters and a drainage area of 55.6 square kilometers, which can be used for tourists to visit by boat. 1996 officially opened to the outside world.

It used to be the Great Wall Fortress "Dashuiyu Pass" in Ming Dynasty. It was built in Yongle period of Ming Dynasty (1403- 1424). The terrain inside the pass is dangerous, and there are three gates in the east, south and west. It is a traffic fortress leading to the big pavilion and hot weather in the capital city of Ming and Qing Dynasties. This canyon not only has a long history, but also has a unique geographical location, and the climate is cool and pleasant all year round. The mountainous area where the canyon is located is characterized by mountains and peaks, continuous clear water, unique climate, windy and rainy, and the annual precipitation is about 800 mm.

The reservoir dam is located in the center of the scenic spot, which divides the scenic spot into four parts: south, north, west and east. The water depth in the south is controlled at 1m, and bamboo rafts and hand boating are the main methods. The water depth in the north is 40-50 meters, and there are large motorboats such as dragon boats, boats and speedboats. There will be beaches in summer. There is the Qinglong Gorge cableway in the west, with a total length of 800 meters and a drop of 369 meters. Take the cableway to Yuhuangtai, the highest peak in the scenic spot. Standing here: Wan Li in the east and mountains and rivers in Miyun Reservoir; Looking down to the south, 10,000 mu of fertile land in the northern plain of Beijing is endless; Reflecting the sunset in the west, Huairou ancient city faces the distant mountains and rivers; Looking at the peaks in the north, the Great Wall winds through the wolf smoke, and the cypress trees are still quiet. There are bungee jumping, rock climbing, downhill, water surfing and directional gliding in the East. Since 1998, Qinglong Gorge has held arbor planting festival, flower stepping festival, Great Wall climbing festival and summer and autumn picking festival every year, and the winter ice and snow tour has attracted a large number of tourists. There are more than 20 scenic spots, such as climbing the cliff and climbing the clouds, the blue dragon in the canyon, the smoke waves, watching the water by Jigong, watching the moon by golden cicada, killing six people with one stone, riding a turtle by immortals, watching the city by jade rabbits, waterfalls and Yuhuangtai.

The ancient Great Wall of Qinglong Gorge was a frontier fortress of the Great Wall in Ming Dynasty. Although the ancient Great Wall in Qinglongxia Scenic Area is mostly a broken monument, the Great Wall here has its own unique style and characteristics.
