What is the three-story dome of the Temple of Heaven in Beijing?
The dome of the Temple of Heaven in Beijing is a three-story dome building.

Yuán mound altar is a carved three-story open-air circular platform, and the altar surface is carved with mugwort bluestone and white marble railings and columns. The two outer circular walls symbolize the "round place".

Because it is a sacrifice to the Temple of Heaven, the whole structure of the dome is a clever use of mathematics. The stone components of the altar, steps and railings all take nine or multiples of nine, that is, positive numbers, to symbolize the sky. The circular slate in the center of the altar, named Tianxin Stone, stands on it and shouts or knocks, and the surrounding voices echo with it, and the voice is loud, as if full of answers.

Each floor is surrounded by finely carved white marble railings. The number of stones used in the altar is related to "Nine". The sum of the three floors is 45 feet, which is not only a multiple of 9, but also means "the honor of the Ninth Five-Year Plan".
