Summary: The part of the stem represents ten, and the part of the leaf represents one.
The display of stems and leaves, also known as "leaf map", was designed by Arthur Bowley, a British statistician, at the beginning of the 20th century, and John Tukey, a statistician, introduced this drawing method to everyone in his book Exploratory Data Analysis from 65438 to 0977.
The idea of stem-leaf diagram is to compare the numbers in the array according to the number of digits, take the numbers with basically the same size or little change as the trunk (stem), and list the numbers with large size change as branches (leaves) behind the trunk, so that you can clearly see the numbers behind each trunk and how much each number is.
