If you want to edit an existing MEE formula, you should convert it to OMML format.
How to convert the formula?
To start the conversion process, simply double-click the formula, or select the formula and press Enter. When you do this, you will be prompted to convert this formula (and all other formulas in this file) to OMML format.
Attention:? You only need to do this for formulas created in the Microsoft Formula Editor.
Will the formula be converted successfully?
In most cases, the formula will be converted normally. You may see some formatting differences, such as slightly different fonts or spacing. If you use colors in formulas, you may need to reapply them after conversion.
There is one exception: the formula converter does not support long divisors. If the formula contains a long divisor, you may need to recreate the formula instead of converting the old format.
Double-click, no prompt for formula conversion.
If you don't receive the conversion prompt, it may be due to the following reasons:
The formula may already be in a supported format (such as OMML) and no conversion is required.
The formula converter is only applicable to Office 20 19, Microsoft 365build16.0.10730 or later.
Tip:? Not sure which version of Microsoft 365 you are using? See About Office: Which version of Office am I using?
The file may be in an old format, such as. DOC,。 PPT or. XLS。 By clicking File >; Save as (if the file is stored in OneDrive or SharePoint, click Save Copy) to save the file in the new Office Open XML format and save a new copy of the file in the Office Open XML format (. DOCX,。 PPTX or. XLSX)。
If you like this file and other users are currently editing it, double-clicking the formula will open a dialog box telling you that the conversion cannot be completed when multiple users are editing the file. You can convert any formula after other users exit the file. ?
