During the Sui and Tang Dynasties, the famous mathematical books of Han and Tang Dynasties, which were more than 1000 years old, were used as textbooks by imperial academy Mathematics Discipline, and were called "Ten Classical Books of Computation". The names of this 10 book are: Zhou pian Shu Jing, Nine Chapters Arithmetic, Arithmetic Classics of Island, Arithmetic Classics of Wu Cao, Arithmetic Classics of Sun Tzu, Arithmetic Classics of Xiahou Yang, Arithmetic Classics of Five Arithmetic Classics, Arithmetic Classics of Ji Gu and Giant Books.

Besides Zhou Kuaijing, Nine Chapters of Arithmetic and Island Classic, other books in Ten Books of Arithmetic also record some achievements of world significance. For example, the problem of "not knowing the number of things" in Sun Tzu's calculation and the problem of "hundred chickens" in Zhang Qiu's calculation are all famous. The solution of the cubic equation of Yoshitani Shujing, especially the method of listing the cubic equation by geometric method, is also very distinctive.
