/kloc-at the end of 0/0, when other primary schools were busy preparing for the mid-term evaluation, children from Grade Two and Shi Ping also took the "final exam". However, their "exam" is not to sit down and write one exam after another, but to walk out of the school gate as a tour guide and lead a group of adults to walk around the community for a lively tour and explanation.
After nine weeks of preparation, preparation and drills, each child showed unexpected ability in the tour, which surprised all the adults involved.
Among the three educational visions of "healthy autonomy, emotional autonomy and academic autonomy", "group tour" is classified as "academic autonomy" and belongs to the category of "humanistic society". One of the purposes of social studies is to teach children to know their own environment, and the best starting point is to start from the people and things around their lives. Besides, how to have a fascinating tour? In addition to being familiar with the route, you need to know the needs of tourists, prepare rich and interesting tour contents and interact with tourists, which depends on the ability of data collection, analysis and organization and excellent oral expression. How to guide tourists? What should I pay attention to in the process? How to find information and turn it into interesting content? How to attract the audience during the tour? These are the challenges that need to be experienced in the tour task.
There are no textbooks and sample books for reference. What kind of teaching activities can teachers design for children to learn these important abilities in this school season?
The teaching of "community tour guide" is divided into two stages. The first stage is to guide children into the learning situation of tour guide role and get to know tour guide work. In the second stage, the children are actually preparing for their tour guide activities. Six weeks before the start of the school season, teachers learned several important elements of tour guide work, and designed six certificates of tour guide card, namely, map reading ability, clue exploration ability, five senses observation ability, caring and empathy ability, imaginative story ability and gold medal microphone:
"Map-reading ability": by reading maps, draw the space between school and home, and learn the mutual transformation of "space and plane"; "clue detection": go to every corner of the school, use keen observation, describe the characteristics of an object in a few words, and design a quiz list; "Five senses observation": Children practice describing objects with five senses (sight, hearing, smell, taste and touch) and using various adjectives; "Caring for empathy": children go home to visit their parents, understand what information they want and understand the needs of the audience; "imaginative story power": collect information about the theme of the tour, then develop the content into a short story and write down the tour content; "Golden Microphone": Practice speaking out what you have prepared for the tour in front of your classmates, and ask them to express their opinions to each other. ? In the first six weeks of teaching activities, children not only become competent guides in all aspects of learning, but also skillfully integrate mathematics (how to measure the length and use a ruler), Mandarin (adjectives and writing) and English conversation (self-introduction, direction, conclusion, etc.). ) and speech exercises. Children have a task certification once a week. After passing the certification test, they can get a pattern badge representing the task and stick it on their guide flag.
In order to let the children know more about the work of "tour guide", the teachers also arranged off-campus teaching in the third week, taking the children to Qingtian 76 to actually observe how professional tour guides conduct tour guide activities. The teacher also encourages parents to take their children to participate in sightseeing activities on weekends, asking them to observe how the tour guide explains, what skills they have and what steps they should take to attract the audience, and asking them to write down their own sightseeing experiences. From the fourth week, the teachers took the children out in groups, and the children took cameras to observe interesting things along the way. Combined with "caring for the same truth", the children also visited their parents' expectations for tour guides after returning to China and began to prepare for the exhibition.
In the sixth week, the teacher invited the professional tour guide of Qingtian 76 to the school again to share the characteristics of the tour guide, the preparation work in advance, the precautions and interactive skills of speaking during the tour, the magic weapon and props of the tour, the precautions on the day of the tour and the appearance of the clothes. At the same time, the children also entered the "golden microphone" certification and told their own guiding stories to the group or the whole class. Children learn quickly. After observing each other, I found that someone prepared photos, reminder cards and small gifts, and I will study immediately next time.
From the seventh week, the children joined the group and prepared for the achievement exhibition. The teachers' group has planned six tour routes, including Guo Bei Jiao Da, Fu 'an Palace, Success Market, Port Authority and MRT Science and Technology Building Station, so that children can choose freely and then group according to their own wishes. In order to let the children know more about their tour routes, the teacher asked the children to write a questionnaire in advance, lead the children to actually visit, and let the children visit the locals themselves to increase their understanding of this place. Teachers also stressed that the tour emphasized teamwork, and team members wanted Qi Xin to work together and help each other. Interestingly, because children choose according to their own wishes, the members of the group are not necessarily classmates who usually play together. They must cultivate tacit understanding in a short time, and increase each other's understanding invisibly.
At the end of the season, the teacher asked the children to prepare "fixed-point tour" and "guide along the way" respectively, and asked parents to take their children to visit the tour route on weekends, and write down the tour contents in advance by using the tour skills learned in previous weeks.
Next, practice. Since the eighth week, teachers have taken their children out to familiarize themselves with the group tour route many times, and also asked them to go home every day to practice telling their group tour stories to their families, and asked them to pay attention to the length of time, typhoons, interaction with the audience and so on. , and constantly correct in practice.
Before the official performance, the school arranged a "simulation demonstration" for parents only. Parents participate in children's groups, act as spectators, and let children simulate drills. After returning to school, the children discussed and corrected according to the problems found that day and the feedback from parents. For example, they find that the tour guide is in front, and the queue of guests will be too long; The tour guide is too noisy, so it should be said somewhere else. Entering the market for tourism, everyone is easy to get separated; The microphone can't hear you. Adjust the microphone position next time. Guests like interaction, and they can prepare prize-winning questionnaires and so on. There is a more detailed division of labor in the group, adding, deleting, supplementing and deleting the form and content of the tour, hoping to improve it on the day of the official tour.
On the day of the official tour, many guests who were not our parents attended the event. Six groups of children led five to seven "tourists" from our school to take different tour routes. They first introduce themselves to the guests, help the tourists arrange team seats (interspersed among teammates to avoid leaving the team), and lead the children to lead them to their scheduled destinations without the guidance of teachers. When crossing the road, they fully cooperate, some help maintain the safety of guests, some are responsible for whistling forcibly, and some are responsible for controlling the queue length. Along the way, the children sang songs and told jokes to entertain tourists, and introduced the scenic spots along the way in turn. Every child, regardless of his nature and shyness, can try to overcome his nervousness and tell an adult a 3-5 minute travel story. Many children dressed up for the theme of the tour, prepared photos, props and dolls to make the tour more lively, and some even arranged Q&; One time, send a small gift made by yourself to make the tour colorful. What surprised me even more was that the teacher asked the children to carry out the task from beginning to end and only reminded them when necessary. It is really touching that these children who have just entered the second grade can complete the tour task as a team without the assistance of adults.
"Multi-choice, planning implementation, resource seeking, practice sharing and experience reflection" is the practical situation of Heping primary school. From the practical teaching mode, we can see that the school really practices the educational spirit through this context. In the theme activities of "community tour", children define their own themes, cooperate in planning, collect information, practice sightseeing, share with each other, and reflect and correct. Although the process is hard, it is also full of challenges. The child was extremely nervous before playing, but when he finally overcame his nervousness and successfully completed the tour, my heart was full of excitement and gratitude!
Thank the school for arranging this difficult challenge for the children! After the baptism of this "community tour guide" task, he knows himself better and is more confident!
