Prior to this, the college entrance examination has been in the form of 6 subjects in liberal arts and 7 subjects in science. Only by reforming the college entrance examination on the basis of the senior high school entrance examination can we get out of the solidified subject combination mode of the unified college entrance examination system. Practice has proved that this reform is conducive to the full implementation of the educational policy of ordinary senior high schools, the improvement of teaching quality and the selection and admission of freshmen in ordinary colleges and universities.
