What is geology?
Geology is the study of the evolution of the earth.

Geology is a knowledge system that studies the material composition, internal structure, external characteristics, interlayer interaction and evolution history of the earth. The main research object is the solid crust, crust or lithosphere of the earth. Geology, as a natural science to study the earth and its evolution, ranks as the five basic disciplines of natural science alongside mathematics, physics, chemistry and biology.

Development prospect of geology:

In the future, the scope and field of geological observation and research will be expanded day by day. In space, we can not only go deep into the lithosphere by direct or indirect methods, but also learn more about the geological characteristics of the moon, some planets in the solar system and their satellites.

The development of mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, astronomy and other disciplines and the further penetration of geology, the application of advanced technology in geological work, combined with fine and in-depth field geological work, will make it possible for people to make scientific explanations on more geological phenomena and laws and conduct more in-depth essential research.

The experimental conditions will be further improved, such as raising the temperature and pressure that the laboratory can reach to a higher level, simulating various geological processes with more complicated variables, and incorporating time factors into the simulation experiment.

The continuous supplement and revision of geological theory, especially the new data provided by various continents about different geological historical periods, will test and develop plate tectonic theory to a great extent, and then produce some new theories and theories.
