If you do basic applications, you won't need much math.
If you want to go deeper, of course, you must learn mathematics well, including discrete mathematics and combinatorial mathematics, but those are all algorithms.
If you must learn C, then learn it. There are few places to use. You don't have to use this math as a crutch. When you get to the point where you need math to solve problems, you can learn math again quickly.
