So far, I have interviewed more than 30 living veterans and written more than 200,000 words of first-hand interview materials, nearly half of which have been published in newspapers such as Life, Southern Literature and Yantai Daily. Rescuing and recording the experience of anti-Japanese war veterans is to hope that as they get old, that past will not be lost in the torrent of history.
