Generally speaking, the mathematical modeling contest is a large-scale application problem that comprehensively considers various conditions. Mathematical modeling contest is a process of using calculation results to explain practical problems, accept practical tests and establish mathematical models. Mathematical modeling competition is a relatively high-value competition, which is helpful for applying for awards, postgraduate entrance examination, studying abroad and finding a job. Mathematical modeling contest is usually a difficult pure mathematical problem, which leads to students only getting very low scores: in 120, about half of the students can only get 1 or 2, and many students even get zero. So from a certain point of view, it is still more difficult.
The preliminary contest of "Dengfeng Cup" mathematical modeling was held nationwide in the form of online exchange competition, and all senior high school students in China were eligible to participate. Each team has 2~4 people (belonging to the same school), and each team can have 1~2 instructors. During the competition, the contestants can use all kinds of books, materials, computers and software to browse online, but they are not allowed to discuss with anyone outside the team (including online). If they use any existing research results of others, they must quote them in a standardized way and clearly indicate the source, otherwise they will be regarded as plagiarism.
