NCEA stands for National Certificate of Educational Achievement. NCEA is a proof of students' achievements. Students begin to learn the New Zealand Certificate of Achievement in Secondary Education (1 grade) from the NCEA Level II of1grade 2 and the NCEA Level III of1grade 3.

3. Certificate standards

NCEA 1 level

Students must have at least 80 credits, of which 10 credit must be obtained from numeracy and 10 credit must be obtained from English reading and writing.

Level 2

Students need to achieve at least 60 credits at Level 2 or above, and the other 20 credits can be obtained from any other level of courses. The credits obtained by students can be used to obtain more than one qualification, so some credits of NCEA 1 can also be used to obtain NCEA2 standards.

Ncea level 3

Students need to reach at least 80 credits, of which 60 credits must come from NCEA level 3 or higher, and the other 20 credits can come from NCEA level 2 or higher.
