Financial Mathematics or Mathematics and Applied Mathematics?
I am now a freshman in mathematics and applied mathematics, and I will be a sophomore soon. I can tell you clearly that if you don't want to train graduate students who don't want to take math exams, then you'd better not apply for this major. If you are interested in finance, you should consider your major in that field. It's difficult and there are many courses, and geometry has nothing to do with the finance you want. However, your idea is very good. If you think you can persist, you can choose mathematics and applied mathematics, and then learn mathematical analysis, advanced algebra and so on. It will be easier when you take the postgraduate entrance examination, and you can take the postgraduate entrance examination in finance. But this major is rather tiring.
