What do you study in the preparatory class?
Preparatory course refers to the basic preparatory course of a university, which is set up for international students who cannot meet the requirements of directly entering undergraduate degree courses. Only by passing the exam can you formally enter the first-year college course.

There are two main types of preparatory courses:

1) Preparatory classes for ethnic minorities: Candidates who participated in the general college entrance examination that year and met the requirements of preparatory classes need to be selected from ordinary colleges and universities designated by the state, and can be selected according to their own wishes after a certain score is reduced. These candidates study in the preparatory class for one year, and they can enter the school directly after passing the exam.

2) international study program for international students. Take the China Preparatory Center of the University of Surrey as an example. After studying 1 year in China, you can directly enter the University of Surrey as a freshman with IELTS scores and matriculation scores.

The preparatory course for studying abroad mainly studies the following contents:

Academic language, professional foundation, learning skills.

Academic language part

Mainly to provide students with English proficiency in listening, speaking, reading and writing, so as to prepare for entering undergraduate study in the future, and the general language scores will be independent on the report card.

Professional basic course

In fact, it is the major chosen in the preparatory course, and it is the direction that I want to study after my undergraduate course. The courses to be offered include business, law, media, art design, humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, engineering, computers, biology, psychology, environment, life sciences, medicine and so on.

These courses have laid a solid discipline foundation for students to enter undergraduate study. Therefore, students should be clear about their goals before applying and choose the courses that suit them according to the actual situation.

Learning skills

Mainly clerical writing and so on. British foundation refers to the students who want to go to the UK for undergraduate studies, but cannot apply for studying abroad because of their own language ability limitations, lack of professional foundation and differences in education system.
