Introduction to marine specialty:

This major focuses on marine exploration technology and marine information technology, and cultivates the basic skills and information processing technology of modern marine exploration technology with a solid mathematical foundation, basic knowledge of marine science, marine acoustics, marine optics, marine remote sensing and marine information, and can be competent for marine scientific research, research and development of marine exploration technology, marine environmental monitoring, marine resource protection, marine engineering and related fields in scientific research, teaching and management.

In order to meet the needs of the country and social and economic development for talents in different professional directions of marine technology, this major includes three talent training modules: marine acoustics technology, marine optics and laser detection technology, marine remote sensing and GIS technology.

(1) The marine acoustics module mainly cultivates students' abilities in research, teaching and application development of underwater acoustic technology, such as underwater target detection, underwater navigation and positioning, underwater communication, remote measurement of marine environment, development of marine resources, underwater acoustic engineering and theoretical research of underwater acoustic propagation.

(2) The module of marine optics and laser detection technology mainly cultivates students' abilities in scientific research, teaching and application development of marine optical detection technology, such as marine environmental optical detection, marine laser detection, underwater target optical detection, marine resource development, theory and application of marine optical transmission, optical engineering, etc.

(3) The module of ocean remote sensing and GIS technology mainly cultivates students' research, teaching and application development abilities in ocean information detection technology such as ocean remote sensing inversion and application technology, ocean atmospheric geographic information technology, virtual ocean simulation technology and digital city.
