Shape and geometry include the understanding and measurement of shape in primary school.
Graphics and geometry are important areas of mathematics learning for students in compulsory education. The primary school stage includes three themes: cognition and measurement of graphics, position and movement of graphics and essence of graphics.

"Understanding and measurement of graphics" includes understanding of three-dimensional graphics and plane graphics, measuring the length of line segments, and calculating the perimeter, area and volume of graphics.

The understanding of graphics is mainly the abstraction of graphics. Students experience the process of abstracting geometric figures from real objects, know the characteristics of figures, feel the relationship between points, lines, surfaces and bodies, accumulate experience of observation and thinking, and gradually form the concept of space.

The key of graphic measurement is to determine the size of the graphic. Students experience the process of unifying measurement units, feel the significance of unifying measurement units, and understand the length, angle, perimeter, area and volume of graphs based on measurement units.
