Leshan, alias history, is located at the intersection of the Southern Silk Road and the Yangtze River Economic Belt. Meishan in the north, Zigong and Yibin in the east, Liangshan in the south and Ya 'an in the west. It is a prefecture-level city under the jurisdiction of Sichuan Province, with a total land area of 12720.03 square kilometers by the end of 2020. It has jurisdiction over 4 districts, 1 county-level city, 4 counties and 2 Yi autonomous counties.
In the Spring and Autumn Period, King Shu was an enlightened ruler. In the 12th year of Yongzheng in Qing Dynasty (A.D. 1734), Jiading House was restored, and Leshan County was located in the house, taking the name of "Zhi Leshan" in the southwest of the city, and the name of "Leshan" is still in use today. 1950, Leshan area was established.
The landforms in Sichuan province are quite different from east to west, and the topography is complex and diverse. It is located in the transition zone between the first Qinghai-Tibet Plateau in Chinese mainland and the middle and lower reaches of the third Yangtze River. The terrain is characterized by high in the west and low in the east, which consists of mountains, hills, plains, basins and plateaus.
Sichuan province belongs to three major climates, namely, subtropical humid climate in Sichuan basin, subtropical semi-humid climate in southwest Sichuan and alpine plateau in northwest Sichuan. The overall climate is pleasant, and there are many longevity towns, such as Dujiangyan City, Pengshan District of Meishan City and Changning County. The population over 90 years old exceeds 1000.
