Introduction to GRE

Candidates who plan to go to graduate schools in the United States or Canada for further study or apply for graduate students need to provide TOEFL scores, and most universities require candidates to provide GRE (Graduate Entrance Examination) scores. GRE exams are held in many parts of the world every year, sponsored by the Education Examinations Service Center (ETS).

China International Examination Coordination Bureau is responsible for the centralized management and undertaking of foreign examinations such as GRR in China. At present, there are 24 examination centers in six regions of the country to handle this matter.

There are two kinds of GRE tests: one is general test or aptitude test, and the other is professional test or advanced test. The general ability test is to test candidates' basic English ability and the breadth and depth of English knowledge, in which the quantitative part is to test candidates' potential ability in basic mathematics and their understanding and judgment of mathematical and physical problems; Ana 1 y tica 1 and logic diagram are used to test candidates' ability of analyzing problems or logical reasoning. ETS provides regular GRE exams five times a year. In China, exams are offered three times a year, and are held in 24 test sites in February, April and 10 every year. Each test center has its own code name. China stipulates that each candidate can only choose one test center.

The registration procedure of GRE test is basically the same as TOEFL test, but candidates need to fill in the GRE supplementary registration form in addition to the GRE registration form. The GRE supplementary registration form consists of three parts: Part A, Part B and Part C. Candidates need a pen to fill in this registration form. The registration number is a 7-digit number printed on the GRF English registration form. Please fill in the first part in English and the other two parts in Chinese. Whether the GRE registration form and the GRE supplementary registration form are filled in correctly will directly affect whether the candidates can receive the results in the future. Therefore, candidates should fill in these two forms carefully.

When registering, candidates should fill in the examination items they have applied for. If they only apply for general tests, they will blacken the ellipse on the left. If you apply for the subject one exam, you should blacken the ellipse corresponding to the professional code. Each candidate can fill in up to 3 colleges or scientific research institutions to apply for. The codes of colleges and departments can be found in the GRE information bulletin.

If the candidate fails to take the GRE exam, the exam fee will not be refunded. However, within 60 days after the exam, candidates can obtain an absence card in CIECB, China with the admission ticket and valid identity documents, which can be used as part of the US dollar fee for candidates to take the next exam or purchase related materials published by ETS. If the examinee has converted the US dollar cash into the "receipt voucher" issued by the bank, and cannot go through the registration formalities for some reason, the examinee can open a refund "withdrawal voucher" at the China Foreign Examination Coordination Office with the "receipt voucher" to receive the refund amount from the Bank of China. For this business, China Foreign Studies Coordination Office will deduct a certain percentage of the handling fee from the total refund of each candidate according to the regulations of China Bank. As for other information related to the exam, candidates can contact the GRE exam office of ETS at the following address:
