Second, cultivate interest in mathematics learning

Due to the influence of exam-oriented education, traditional mathematics classroom teaching has great difficulties in cultivating students' interest in learning because of its "fast pace and large capacity" and the high abstraction of the subject itself. I was once deeply impressed by the speech of an excellent middle school principal. He taught mathematics to the graduating class of senior three, and the average score of mathematics in the college entrance examination was 94. Most of these students have entered different majors in universities. A year later, these students visited the headmaster after the holiday. On a whim, he took the math test paper of the college entrance examination that year and took it again. The result was unexpected, and the average score was only 16.3. The scores obtained are mainly related to mathematical thinking methods, in other words, the specific knowledge and operation methods are almost forgotten.

The long-term education of standard procedures and standard answers has turned students into tools for solving problems, but in fact they have become tools for closed thinking methods, which is the sorrow of exam-oriented education. Method is flow, and thought is source. In science teaching, whether to take knowledge itself as an end or to use knowledge as a tool and means to master scientific methods are two completely different educational concepts. Mathematics teaching is not to teach students to solve problems, but to teach students to solve problems.
