Notice of Registration for "2007 Higher Education Club Cup National Mathematical Modeling Competition for College Students"

Provinces (cities, autonomous regions) Education Department (Education Committee) Higher Education Department, the organizing committee of each competition area and universities:

In order to cultivate students' innovative consciousness and the ability to solve practical problems by using mathematical methods and computer technology, according to the spirit of "Notice on Entrusting the Organizing Committee of the National Mathematical Modeling Competition for College Students" issued by the Ministry of Education of People's Republic of China (PRC) [20065438+0] No.30, the Organizing Committee of the National Mathematical Modeling Competition for College Students (hereinafter referred to as the National Organizing Committee) decided to hold the 2007 National Mathematical Modeling Competition for College Students (hereinafter referred to as the Competition). The registration notice is now sent to the national colleges and universities as follows. Students from all schools are welcome to sign up for the competition according to the rules of the competition.

1. According to the principle that the annual competition time is from 8: 00 a.m. on the third Friday in September to 8: 00 a.m. on the next Monday, it is determined that the competition time in 2007 will be from 8: 00 on Friday, September 2 1 Sunday to 8: 00 on Monday, September 24.

2. The contestants take 3 college students as a team (tutors are not encouraged), and register with the organizing committee of the competition area through the educational administration department of the school, and then the organizing committee of the competition area registers with the national organizing committee. If the competition area has not been established, the school will register directly with the National Organizing Committee. The deadline for registration of the National Organizing Committee is September 15.

3. The competition is divided into group A and group B. Considering that the level of undergraduate mathematics education has been greatly improved in recent years, the number of students in junior colleges (higher vocational colleges) has also increased greatly, it is appropriate to divide the competition into specialist groups. Therefore, starting from this year, undergraduates will participate in Group A competitions, and junior college students will participate in Group B competitions (they can also participate in Group A competitions). No matter which competition group you join, you must make sure when you register. You can't change the registration group after the registration deadline.

4. The upper limit (or no limit) of the number of teams participating in each college is not uniformly stipulated in the whole country, and it is controlled by the organizing committees of each division; According to the registration results, the National Organizing Committee will determine the number of national awards (the proportion of winning awards shall not exceed last year's proportion) and the proportion of papers submitted by each division to the national review (not exceeding last year's proportion).

The contest topic will be published on at least 3 websites at the beginning of the contest, and no written topic will be mailed. For participating organizations with special difficulties, please contact the organizing committees of each competition area. Conditional competition areas will also upload competition questions on time for students to download.

6. The registration fee is the same as last year.

7. Please carefully read and understand the regulations of the National Mathematical Modeling Competition for College Students before the competition starts, and enter the competition in strict accordance with the regulations. The organizing committees of each competition area and the National Organizing Committee will select some teams and organize interviews and defenses as appropriate during the award period.
