Chen Guang is currently the Dean of College of Energy and Environment, Anhui University of Technology. In recent years, he has published more than 20 papers in Heat Transfer Engineering, Journal of Harbin Institute of Technology and Metallurgical Energy. In the aspect of longitudinal subject, he presided over the key project of Anhui Provincial Department of Education "Research on Applied Mathematical Model of Bell Furnace" and passed the provincial appraisal, reaching the international advanced level; I participated in a 973 project when I was a doctor. In terms of transverse topics, he presided over many topics, such as "Optimization of annealing mathematical model of Baosteel bell furnace", "Research on heating process of continuous casting bloom in Baosteel", "Development of online secondary control model of heating furnace in Nangang", "Research on heating model of color coated steel plate in Baosteel" and "Experimental study on internal thermal function of continuous annealing furnace in Baosteel", which made great contributions to energy saving and product quality improvement of enterprises. For three consecutive years, the college ranked first in scientific research.

It has trained outstanding students such as Li Zhihu, Zhang Peng, Li Wang, Chen Peng, Wu Liming and Dong Lei, and won the second prize of the National Challenge Cup, the third prize of the National Energy Conservation and Emission Reduction Competition, and the China Youth Science and Technology Innovation Award. His two young teachers, Chen Demin and Zhang Lihui, won the first and second place in the Young Teachers' Speech Contest respectively. Lu Biao, a young teacher, independently developed a two-stage online control model program for heating furnace, which has been put into use in Nangang Medium Plate Plant, and its function has reached the level of Stein Company.
