Executive summary:
This book is written for the course of probability theory and mathematical statistics in higher engineering colleges. It contains all the contents of "Basic Requirements of Probability Theory and Mathematical Statistics Teaching" formulated by 1986 Engineering Mathematics Course Steering Committee. In order to meet the needs of more readers, we have added some contents appropriately, and added "*" in front of this part. This book is aimed not only at engineering majors, but also at some non-engineering majors. It can also be used as a self-study reference book for engineers and technicians.
The content of this book is divided into seven parts: the first part is the concept and operation of events and their probabilities (chapters 1 and 2); The second part is random variables and their distribution (Chapters 3 and 4). The third part is the numerical characteristics of random variables (Chapter 5). The fourth part is the limit theorem (Chapter 6); The fifth part is the basic concept of mathematical statistics (Chapter VII); The sixth part is the basic methods of estimation and test (Chapters 8 and 9). The seventh part is the preliminary statistical analysis of linear model (Chapter 10). There are exercises at the end of each chapter. The answers to the exercises are attached at the end of the book. To read this book, you only need to have a mathematical foundation of calculus in higher engineering colleges.
The manuscript of this book has been used as a teaching material in Harbin Institute of Technology (edited by King Cao and Xu Chengde) for many years, and the effect is good. On this basis, Chen Guilin, Wang Yong, Guan Zhong and others have seriously revised and supplemented the book according to their teaching practice in recent years. Because the editing level is limited-shortcomings and mistakes are inevitable, please criticize and correct me.

Foreword:
Cultivating innovative talents with a solid foundation has always been an important goal of university education. With the advent of the era of knowledge economy, this goal has become more prominent. In engineering university education, mathematics is not only a basic theoretical course, but also plays a particularly important role in cultivating students' abstract thinking ability, logical reasoning ability, spatial imagination ability and scientific calculation ability. In order to meet the requirements of training engineering and technical personnel for mathematics in the 2 1 century, we have explored the reform of mathematics teaching for many years in accordance with the spirit of the former State Education Commission on the reform of series of courses, and achieved certain results. On this basis, we have compiled this set of teaching materials, including: mathematical analysis of engineering (Volume I), linear algebra and spatial analytic geometry, probability theory and mathematical statistics, calculation methods and mathematical experiments. This set of teaching materials is based on various mathematics courses in higher industrial schools promulgated by the former State Education Commission 1995.
I've been watching it recently and want to see it.
