Mathematics is divided into three majors, namely, mathematics and applied mathematics, information and computing science, and data computing and application.

Introduction to mathematics and applied mathematics;

Mathematics and applied mathematics is a discipline, which cultivates the basic theories and methods of mathematical science, has the ability to use mathematical knowledge and solve practical problems with computers, and has been initially trained in scientific research.

II. Introduction to Information and Computing Science:

The major of Information and Computational Science was originally named' Computational Mathematics', 1987 was renamed' Computational Mathematics and Its Application Software', and 1998 was renamed' Information and Computational Science' by the Ministry of Education. It is a mathematics major that combines mathematics with information and computer management with the background of information field.

The students trained in this major have a good mathematical foundation, can skillfully use computers, and initially have the ability to engage in scientific research, solve practical problems and design and develop computer software related to a certain direction in the field of information and computer science.

Introduction of Basic Science of Mathematics and Physics: The major of Basic Science of Mathematics and Physics mainly cultivates outstanding talents with development potential who can engage in teaching and scientific research of basic sciences such as mathematics and physics, especially those with innovative ability of mathematics and physics, and also cultivates new talents with good basic knowledge of mathematics and physics for other disciplines that require higher basic knowledge of mathematics and physics.

Three. Introduction to data computing and application;

Data Computing and Application is an undergraduate major. Cultivate all-round development of morality, intelligence and physique, have a good mathematical foundation and mathematical thinking ability, master the basic theories, methods and skills of information science and statistics, have received preliminary training in scientific research, have certain abilities in data modeling, high-performance computing, big data processing and programming, and can use the knowledge and skills learned to solve practical problems in the fields of data analysis, information processing, scientific and engineering computing.
