Fang Dezhi attaches great importance to the compilation of teaching materials. Combining with my own scientific research achievements and absorbing advanced achievements at home and abroad, I have written such monographs, textbooks and teaching reference books as Differential Geometry, Analytic Geometry and Linear Algebra, Fundamentals of Differential Geometry and Introduction to Riemannian Geometry 14. He attaches great importance to the modernization of teaching materials and wants to reflect new scientific achievements with less but more accurate content. Analytic geometry, projective geometry, linear algebra and abstract algebra have always been four courses in the teaching plan of mathematics specialty. This takes up a lot of class hours, and it is difficult for students to understand the internal relationship between the four courses. Fang Dezhi thinks that these courses need great reform, and organically combines the basic contents of the above four courses to write analytic geometry and linear algebra. Before and after publication, it was tried for five years in the department of mathematics of Xiamen University, and the effect was good. The content is simpler and easier to understand than ordinary textbooks, which meets the requirements of improving teaching quality and reducing students' burden, and conforms to the principle of less but better. As one of the excellent teaching materials in this province, this book participated in the 1986 Hong Kong Book Fair and was well received.
