On the afternoon of May 7th, Chu Zhiyuan, director of the Education Committee of Bao 'an Calligraphers Association and executive editor of Bao 'an Calligraphy Education Newspaper, visited the 268th Bao 'an Culture Teahouse and answered questions for parents from the aspects of the significance of practicing calligraphy, how to discover the potential of children's calligraphy and how to urge children to fall in love with calligraphy.
Chu Zhiyuan, a native of Henan, now lives in Songgang. As the director of the Education Committee of Baoan Calligraphers Association and the editor-in-chief of Baoan Calligraphy Education Newspaper, he actively participated in the promotion and implementation of calligraphy education in Songgang Street, Baoan District.
At the beginning of the lecture, Mr. Chu Zhiyuan shared the current situation of calligraphy education for everyone. Having been engaged in calligraphy education for more than ten years, Mr. Chu deeply feels that the national education department attaches great importance to calligraphy education, especially Baoan District, which is in the forefront of Guangdong Province and even the whole country, and has made a solid progress and great influence. Every school has calligraphy classes. Even so, the effect of calligraphy education is not ideal, and some problems need to be solved. Although the school has calligraphy classes, the teachers are uneven and the professional strength is in short supply. Calligraphy is a highly specialized course, and it is not necessary to find someone who can write to teach calligraphy. There are also a few people who take calligraphy classes as Chinese and math classes. The popularity of computers has led some people to mistakenly think that writing is not important and there is no need to spend time practicing writing. Others mistakenly read and write Chinese characters and calligraphy, thinking that writing well means practicing calligraphy well. In fact, calligraphy is based on writing good words, following certain rules and layout, and personal emotional expression, acting willfully, which is the art of soul dancing with splashing ink.
The short circuit and blind obedience of family education make children's interest in calligraphy nip in the bud. Teacher Chu found that one-third of the students in senior one and senior two have the potential of "genius calligraphy", and many parents said that their children's calligraphy in senior one and senior two is very good. Why can't you write well when you are old? This is because it has not attracted enough attention. Some parents blindly follow, regardless of their children's feelings, and use blunt methods to force their children to learn, making them feel headache and want to escape at the sight of a pen. The effect can be imagined, and the result is the loss of a large number of calligraphy seedlings.
Practicing calligraphy contains the function of educating people. Calligraphy can make people feel quiet, cultivate children's perseverance, concentration and aesthetic taste, and help children to be calm, clear-headed and concentrate on writing. The grades must be not bad. Children will be more confident, sunny, happy, full of youthful temperament, parents will be satisfied, the whole atmosphere will be better, and * * * will also embark on the road of realizing the "Chinese dream".
Chu Zhiyuan broke the news and shared that he always got into trouble because of pranks when he was a child. His grandfather used a pen to stimulate his curiosity and used calligraphy to stop him from playing. Since then, I have become attached to calligraphy and my life has completely changed. In high school, because of his good calligraphy practice, he was exempted from tuition fees, and was able to successfully complete his studies, be admitted to a normal school, catch up with the national calligraphy education, and enter the campus shuttle bus, giving him the opportunity to take root in Baoan Calligraphy Art Hall and make great efforts to promote calligraphy education. Calligraphy has benefited me for life.
Teacher Chu shared more than ten years of teaching experience. No matter what the present situation is, there is no need to envy the proud achievements of the ancients and others. As parents, it is the key to start from themselves, respect the reality, guide children to cultivate interest, do a good job in their logistics and protect their calligraphy potential. Some experts believe that "if you want your child to be what kind of person, you must put your child in that environment to soak." Teacher Chu believes that it is very important for parents to master effective communication with their children and effective ways of thinking, and to avoid stiffly and forcibly guiding their children to like calligraphy emotionally. If you find that your child has calligraphy potential, you can choose some good calligraphy training institutions nearby, create a learning atmosphere for your child, and organize some activities to further stimulate your child's confidence and let your child fall in love with calligraphy in immersion. In terms of communication methods, we should help children develop good habits of persistence, pay attention to the "big" direction that children adhere to, and don't care too much about children's small mistakes, especially in the process of children's writing. Parents should never get angry when they see their children's crooked handwriting in adults' eyes, or take the pen improperly, which will make their children have rebellious psychology and stifle the seeds of interest that their children have just sprouted.
"Brush has its specific procedures, composition and structure." Teacher Chu thinks that "calligraphy should be learned and practiced." Just like playing the piano, if you just practice, without the guidance of the teacher and the element of "learning", the effect will be greatly reduced.
Teacher Chu demonstrated how to hold and lift a pen when practicing writing. "Practicing calligraphy is practicing heart", and Teacher Chu shared that "the first step in practicing calligraphy is to learn to write." How to write? "Lack of fingers" is the core of writing. When Mr. Zhu took out his pen, he stretched out his thumb, forefinger and middle finger of his right hand, shaped like a pistol. Then gently pinch the thumb, forefinger and middle finger together, and at the same time gently press the ring finger on the brush from the palm direction. This is "finger shortage", that is, putting the brush between the thumb, forefinger and middle finger. The position of the pen is generally one-third of that of the writing brush, which can be adjusted at will after skilled practice, and can be adjusted to the upper end of the pen when writing running script, cursive script or Chinese characters. When you write, you hold a pen in your wrist and pull it. When writing, one hand holds the paper, the other hand holds the pen, and the wrist exerts force, and the pen is always vertical. So how much power do we need to use?
Teacher Chu's sharing with his parents is like the feeling that the driver is holding the steering wheel. It is not difficult to get it in his hand, but he can gently take it off by his wrist. Teacher Chu emphasized that when you start practicing calligraphy, you must start with ancient copybooks, such as Yan Zhenqing and Wang Xizhi. Chu Zhiyuan shared that when he first started practicing calligraphy, he liked to buy a lot of copybooks in the bookstore, and each copybook stopped for a while before writing another copybook. After seeing it, the teacher severely criticized and warned him: "If you keep practicing like this, you will eventually become four elephants! It is best to fix a position. " Under the guidance of the teacher, Chu Zhiyuan chose Chu Suiliang's regular script to practice so far. I saw Mr. Chu show you his calligraphy at the scene, which is elegant and graceful.
